In an almost discreet corner of the Lake District, what is perhaps one of it’s most luxurious hotels. Away from the busy honey pots but not so far as to be isolated, Armathwaite Hall lies close to the shore of Bassenthwaite, with a view across the northern fells directly towards Skiddaw.
This, privately owned 4 star hotel boasts magnificent fine dining, hospitaility & ambience rarely found these days, that even Agatha Christies “Poirot” would have loved, and reflects the true architecture of this original stately home. Truly that country house feel! There are clearly insufficient superlatives to fully offer it justice.
Ensconced in a 400 acre deer park and woodland, on it’s door step is Trotters Animal Wildlife Park, dedicated to education & conservation whilst being a worthwhile attraction for all ages to visit and enjoy. Close by, in season, the Osprey view point where visitors can see these magnificent birds in their own environment. The heart of the Lake District and all it’s majesty and attractions is only a short drive away and unlikely as it will be, should you feel the need to dine out or shop, retail centres such as Keswick & Cockermouth are literally just down the road.
The hotel itself offers a variety of entertainments, from a modern gym and spa through to outdoor activities to get the blood pumping including Tennis, Clay Shooting, Quad Biking & Archery.
As a wedding venue, it’s fairy tail appearance gives magic and magnificence to any ceremony and with the large gardens and stunning scenery nearby your wedding album is sure to be first class, just like the hotel. Armathwaite is the perfect retreat for exploring the wonders of the region whilst wallowing in it’s sumptuous luxury and the tranquility of it’s idyll or the quintessential wedding venue they’ll make any special day that bit more special! It’s for this reason we have decided to allocate Armathwaite Hall our 3 Gold Star Award.
